Change is never easy – even when it’s something we want, and we know that it would be good for us. We can all get stuck in our habitual ways of seeing and doing things and need a fresh perspective to see ourselves and our situation more clearly to be able to move ourselves in the right direction.
What is Coaching?
Coaching is a thought-provoking and creative process that often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity, and leadership. (International Coaching Federation)
As a certified Integral Professional Coach™, I provide a safe and confidential space where you can take the time you need to explore the issues that are important to you.
We work in partnership to help you develop a clear picture of where you are, create a vision of where you would like to be, and co-create strategies to help you develop the practices and changes that you need to achieve your goals.
We surface your personal values, deepen your self-awareness, and plan your actions to move forward thoughtfully and with intention.
As your coach, I ask questions to probe deeper and provide appropriate structure to our conversations to help you find your own solutions. I bring you back to issues you may be avoiding. Authenticity and trust ground our interactions.
I work best with people who are ready to do the work – my goal is to move you beyond the thinking and the talking, to actually doing what it takes to reach your goals.
I understand the complexity and challenges of working in and with organizations.
I have the opportunity to speak with and learn from a diverse group of people, and I bring that knowledge, as well as up-to-date coaching and leadership best practices to my clients. I help my clients see the bigger picture of their own situations.
The following questions are examples of issues I’ve worked on with my clients to find successful outcomes:
Are personal challenges (e.g., imposter syndrome, fear of speaking up in meetings, managing difficult emotions, etc.) holding you back?
Are there relationships at work that you are finding difficult to manage? Are the strategies you usually use to “manage up” not working with some of your key co-workers?
Are there performance issues with some of your staff, but you’re unsure how to best coach them? Do you need to learn best practices to bring the most effective leadership style to each team member?
Are you finding it challenging to manage your personal and professional stress? Would you like to achieve a greater work/life balance?
Are you unsure where to go next in your career and need help defining your personal and professional goals?
Do you need a confidential trusted “thinking partner” with whom you can think aloud to honestly and authentically examine issues that are important to you?
What are the changes that you’d like to make in your life?
What is holding you back from the professional success you’d like to achieve?
What do you keep doing that’s still not working?
You don’t need to tackle your challenges on your own.
My whole life has been a journey of self-discovery, pursuing what really matters to me. Like you, it has been a mixture of opportunities and roadblocks along the way that forced me to re-evaluate what I really wanted to do next.
Sometimes, it only required a minor tweak; other times it changed my life. No doubt the biggest move came when I realized that I no longer wanted to practice law, but it took me years to work up the courage to leave the practice and start over in a new direction.
As I look back on the arc of my career, I am very proud that my steps were taken with intention and forethought and always values-driven.
But it would have been a lot easier with a professional coach by my side!
That is why I find the work that I do as a Coach so rewarding. Whether you need to work through some tweaks or are asking yourself if it’s time for a major change, I have most likely “walked in your shoes” so that I understand the challenges that you’re facing and can help you discover your own path forward.
I have worked for over 25 years in public and private organizations, law firms and universities, and in consulting, coaching, and training roles, and have held senior roles in different industries.
In addition to my own Coaching practice, I am Faculty with the McGill Executive Institute where I deliver courses in Emotional Intelligence, Coaching for High Performance, Leadership, Communications and Team Development.
My education and credentials include a Master’s degree in Organizational Development, a Bachelor of Civil Law, and a Bachelor of Laws.
I am a certified Integral Professional Coach™ (PCC) and hold the Associate Certified Coach Credential (ACC) from the International Coaching Federation.
I work with numerous resources including 360-degree feedback, the FIRO-B and the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Styles Inventory and am certified in the Emotional Intelligence EQ-i 2.0 and EQ In-Action profiles, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator ® (Level II) and the Strength Deployment Inventory® (Level II).
